Students now begin rigorous ballet training as they move up and continue with our Royal Academy of Dance curriculum. The dancers will focus on terminology, refining technique, poise, barre exercises for strength and stamina, and more advanced combinations for centre and across the floor exercises. As the students move up through the levels taking multiple classes and working through the Pointe Track System are strongly encouraged for utmost advancement and skill.
The upper levels refine technique to achieve beauty and precision with the emphasis on technical vocabulary as well as an accurate understanding of correct placement and strong technical execution of steps. Adagio exercises require strength, allegro exercises are increasingly faster and longer, and pirouettes require the coordination of many technical components. Students will learn ballet variations and character dances based upon those used in original classical ballets.
